Workshops at Wood Street Art Space
Daniel Butterworth - Painting Portraits on Cardboard - Saturday 25th March, 10am - 4pm
Daniel Butterworth will run a one-day workshop focusing on “Painting portraits with house paint on cardboard”. Daniel is an Archibald Prize finalist and frequently uses self-portraits to express social, political and personal views.
"DANIEL’S LOOSE AND FREE APPROACH TO HIS MEDIUM IS CAPTIVATING!"
This one day workshop is being run by popular demand, after Daniel’s highly successful Activity Night at the Louis Joel Centre last year. Attendees filled the room then to watch Daniel demonstrating his vibrant painterly approach, firstly to a self-portrait, then to a portrait of HBAS President, Gaye Pereira Jackson. Unfortunately there is only space for 12 participants in this Woods Street workshop, so register early to secure your spot. Registrations will be accepted on a first come first served basis.
In this workshop, Daniel will demonstrate his technique, then support participants through the production of 4 portraits. The use of house paints and cardboard (rather than expensive alternatives) will free participants up to experiment and explore portrait making on a large scale.
