​Featured Artist of the Month - David Hopwood

After a lifelong interest in art I began painting on retirement, approximately six years ago and during that time I have focused on watercolour. After initially attending classes with Karin Zeller and Gwen Temby, I have been guided by Ted Dansey for the past four years in search of a looser, more impressionist style. Apart from Ted Dansey I like to study the work of David Taylor, Edward Wesson and John Hoar. At recent Hobsons Bay Arts Society exhibitions I have received three highly commended awards. I enjoy plein air painting and take off to the country when time permits.
