Something to do......

Botanic Art Workshop with Chris Rockley
The Friends of Williamstown Botanic Gardens is offering a botanic art workshop with Chris Rockley on Saturday, 18th March from 10am.

Spend an inspiring morning rediscovering the gardens through the eye of an artist. Hone your skills to see new colour combinations, repeating patterns, overlapping shapes and growth forms. Explore the elements of the plants from leaves, stems, seeds and flowers and create brand new imagery. The old adage that everything has already been done, will be thrown out the window.
Learn to take inspiration from the garden and apply it to an art form you are personally interested in. Or you may be sparked to try a totally new medium.

Bring:
- Hat and sun protection
- Sketch pad with hard back to lean on
- Portable chair or pillow to sit on
- Pencils - 2B, HB
- Sharpener and eraser
- Camera or phone camera

Your tutor for the day is Chris Rockley. Chris is a professional scientific illustrator who works with terrestrial and aquatic plants. Along well as 2D artwork, she has worked extensively in textile art and photography. She has been running workshops on nature observation for over 15 years. Her website is: www.chrisrockley.com

The cost is $30 plus a booking fee and bookings are essential.
