I started taking art seriously 6 years ago when my sister and I joined a pastel art class in Bannockburn. I had always been creative but never had the time to fully persue it as being a mum of four was my first priority, now I do have time. I enjoyed pastel but stopped when I moved away from the area so I then started with acrylics going weekly to classes run by a local lady in my area. When I moved to Altona I continued with acrylics but then while on holidays I began using white pencil on black paper. A friend saw my work and asked me if I could draw her daughters dog in white pencil, there beginning my pet portrait journey with more and more people asking me to draw their pets, I started adding pops of colour so before long I was doing coloured portraits.
I have an extensive supply of all mediums except oils( I’ve never done them) so I am always going from one to another. I would of course like to learn more and I intend to do more art classes and keep learning from YouTube and videos. I love living in Altona and being a part of this community.
