I began my artists journey as a potter. Enjoying and refining skills in hand building and wheel throwing using terracotta, stoneware and raku.
It was during a break from my teaching career that I was able to attend a classes run by Karin Zella and discovered a love for acrylic paint. After retiring, from teaching, the death of my husband and emerging from covid lockdownsI was warmly welcomed into the Wednesday morning activity group lead by Gaye Pieriera. This group is a highlight of my week and has renewed my love for creating, especially with acrylics.
I create and paint for my own pleasure and use my time painting as a form of active meditation.
My painting skills are self taught and raw and each piece I work on evolves very slowly.
