Featured Artist of December 2019:
Lynn Slade

Lynn Slade was very ‘arty’ as a child and once won first prize in an art competition when she was 6yo. However she didn’t pick up a pencil or brush for another 60 years until she was due for retirement in 2017. To cope with having nothing to do after working full time for over 50 years she decided to take an art course and reignite her passion for art. In 2017 she attended a colored pencil workshop with Michelle Ripari to create photo realistic art and loved it, she was amazed at what could be produced with this medium. Since then Lynn has worked hard to develop her own style and works with a wide range of subjects and has undertaken paid commissions for her pet portraits.
Now that she has more time to work on her art she also passes on her knowledge to others in small informal groups, encouraging them to try something new and discover the beauty of working with colored pencils. See more of Lynn’s work on her Facebook page: www.facebook.com/pg/LynnSladeArt
