Featured Artist: Jenny Viney

I have drawn and painted since I can remember. To help improve myself, many years ago, I did art classes with Peter Smales and Barbara McManus at the Victorian Artist Society and a couple of workshops along the way, always learning. I have also experimented with industrial drawing and acrylic paintings. For example when on a trip to Mona Art Gallery in Hobart, I was inspired by the smelter that we passed on the Derwent River. I became fascinated with all the pipes and man's ingenuity, and used my photos to start on a mission to paint this industrial scene.
I regularly exhibit (when open) at various Art Shows throughout Victoria, including Camberwell, Lorne, Mission to Seafarers Art Show (where I am proud to say I won Best Traditional Painting in 2019,(last painting shown of the Zincworks along the Derwent River), the Linden Postcard show and of course at HBAS (including 5" x 7" art prize). I am continually inspired by modern past masters (Van Gogh, Jeffrey Smart and many more).
My work can be viewed on instagram #jennyspaintworks and at Bluethumb Art. I have a stall at the North Essendon Craft Market (last Saturday of the Month) where I sell paintings, including miniature paintings.
