HBAS Free Little Art Gallery (FLAGS) Newsletter - October
Hi FLAG bearers!
This is the first of monthly newsletter updating you all on our Free Little Art Galleries (FLAGS) program which is now up and running in 13 locations across Hobsons Bay. We have been very excited by the way in which our communities have embraced the FLAGs, with artists (new, emerging and experienced!) making mini-art works in a wide range of mediums. These have been proudly displayed and many have already been exchanged!
As you can see from the FLAG display at Altona Library, October is Creativity Month, so what better time to encourage members of your community to “take an art-work, make an art work”!

Supply boxes of art goodies are already needing replenishment in some locations! If you need any more paints, canvases, stones, wood to paint or any other material to make marks on, carve or shape, do contact us.
Because we’d like to share and celebrate the creativity across each of our communities we’re proposing that in each of our monthly newsletters, we showcase a different FLAG site. In this newsletter, we feature the Vietnamese Association and in following newsletters we’ll be featuring Mambourin disability service provider, then Walker Close Community Centre. If you’d like to schedule your group for dates early in 2023, do drop us a line. This is a great opportunity to promote your organization’s work in the community.
